A Closer Look at the Latest Video Games

The last year has seen rapid development in gaming (although PC Games have seen more improvement than console games). Games such as Crysis for the PC and Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 have demonstrated the continuous improvement to graphics and physics; here is a list of the latest ground-breaking games:

Call of Duty 4

COD4 - the best selling game of 2007 - is still one of the most popular games around. COD4 features great graphics, detailed realism and awesome single and multiplayer modes. COD4 is popular on every platform it was released for and it remains one of best FPS games released in the last few years.

Crysis: Warhead

As the follow-up to the original Crysis, Warhead again brings the same excellent graphics and stunning realism but from the perspective of the overtly British soldier, `Psycho`. With improved performance and a better accent for the protagonist Crysis: Warhead looks to be one of the year`s greatest games.

Final Fantasy 4

Final Fantasy 4 for the Nintendo DS is probably the most critically-acclaimed game to grace the DS platform at current. FF4 has a great story, good graphics and is part of one of the highly-regarded RPG series ever which make it one of the DS`s best games.

Grand Theft Auto IV

GTA4 was one of the most anticipated games this year and it managed to live up to its enormous hype. Released for PS3 and the Xbox 360 it remains one of the most critically-acclaimed video games ever. The game is similar to its predecessors while it also offers many new features which result it in it being one of the greatest console games of all-time.

Spore

Spore is one of the most unique games to have come out for a long while; Spore is a PC game which allows the user to control a species as it evolves and becomes a socialised, intelligent creature and begins space exploration and things. Spore is already very popular and is a completely unique game which integrates well with the PC platform (it even utilises Youtube!).

Super Smash Bros: Brawl

As the third instalment of the SSB series Brawl sticks the old successful formula but improves upon the criticisms of it`s predecessors. Brawl features better graphics, a better story mode and many more characters which make it a lot more enjoyable and give it a longer playing-time. SSB:B is one of the most popular games ever released for the Nintendo Wii.

Games to look out for soon

The next year holds many brilliant surprises for gamers. Diablo 3 is set to become the most anticipated RPG game ever while `Tekken 6` and `The Lord of the Rings Conquest` will also be released in the coming months. Remember though, in order to get a better gaming experience and enjoy the full potential of these incredible games it is important to make sure you`ve got decent peripherals - not just a good console or PC. It may be worth considering buying a new screen, Wireless Speakers or even a new graphics card (if playing on PC) since now, more than ever, games deserve the best equipment to be enjoyed fully.
