How To Stop Gears Of War 3 From Freezing and Fix it!
Does your perfectly working copy of Gow3 keep freezing whenever you enter campaign or a multiplayer game? Then this guide will help you fix the problem. Not quiet sure how this comes about, but it can be easily fixed if you can handle a few sacrfices to your progress in the game.
Welcome to the grid...
The set back to using this 'fix' is that it tricks you xbox into thinking your gpd of gears of war 3 is new. This is something that is attached to your gamertag. You'll notice if you delete all your saves of gears of war 3, you'll still have campaign progess and a few other things. So to fixing your freezing in Gears will reset your story progression and some of your counters for certain achievements like executions. The great thing is that everything connected to the online side is not reset so progress bars to medals, ribbons or rank are untouched! :) Follow the instructions below, word for word and you'll be playing event days on online again.
- Transfer you profile to an external device. So a memory card or usb stick. This can be done by going to My Xbox then to, System Settings, the obvious path here is to select Memory.
- Once in Memory choose the device that has the profile in and select 'Move'. Move the gamertag to the Mempry card or usb stick.
- No, you need to clear the system Cache! Do all about untill you get to Memory.. Open it, the choose the hard drive of your xbox. Press 'Y' then choose 'Clear System Cache'
- Next load up Gears of War 3. Whenm you see the logo for EPIC games, removes the usb stick/memory card with the profile on. (It'll want you to put it back in, ignore this)
- Now press 'Start'
- Check you progress stats in story. They should now be reset.
- Plug back your Memory card/USB Device.
Thats it. You should now be able to use you profile again to play games on system link, online and all other modes like normal. If this has helped. Please take a look at the links at the bottom of the page. It helps fund the site to keep online. Also leave comments. We love to hear how things go!
